Basil

Healthy culinary herb as it contains no calories and is low on cholesterol.

Basil's benefits include reducing inflammation, and it is said to have anti-aging and antibacterial properties. The leaves are used fresh or dried to flavour meats, fish, salads, and sauces; basil tea is a stimulant. When cooking it should be added at the end of cooking. Heat removes the flavour and if cooked for too long can result in bitterness.

Basil is used for stomach spasms, loss of appetite, intestinal gas, kidney conditions, fluid retention, head colds, warts, and worm infections.
